There are plenty of places to stay in Taichung. Since we drove to Taichung this time, we wanted somewhere with easy parking, and we happened to come across "OldF Hotel," which has its own underground parking garage and is located near Shen Ji New Village — so if you want to wander over the next day, you can just leave the car parked here.
But the most important thing when staying out is cleanliness, and on this stay at OldF Hotel the sofa in the room was really dirty, with big stains. Just looking at it, we didn't dare sit down — a major deduction right there.

📍 Location & Parking
OldF Hotel's location is actually pretty good. It's in Taichung's West District, within a 10-minute walk of Shen Ji New Village, and right across the street is the Daiyi Parking Lot in the West District, so if the hotel's garage is full you can park there.
We arrived at the hotel in the evening this time, and the underground garage was already full, so we had to park on the street or in a parking lot. We ended up at the Daiyi lot across the road: $250 for 24 hours on weekends, but after checking out the front desk gives you a NT$100 subsidy.

🏢 Public Areas
OldF Hotel isn't a large property. Aside from the guest rooms on the second floor, there's only this small lounge area on the ground floor. Besides the front desk and sofas, they sell some snacks, drinks and ice cream so guests don't have to run out to a convenience store, and they also offer a toy rental service for kids.
🛏 The Room
All of OldF Hotel's rooms are on the second floor. The room we stayed in was medium-sized, with a standard double bed on the soft side and a big TV. But as mentioned earlier, it was let down by the sofa, which looked filthy with large stains...

Another issue is that the soundproofing isn't great — you can hear conversations outside very clearly, and at night whenever the room next door turned on the water in the bathroom it was extremely loud. They thoughtfully provide earplugs in the room, but light sleepers might want to think twice.
There's no kettle in the room, so if you want warm water or tea in the morning you need to take a cup to the water dispenser by the elevator.
The bathroom, though, is quite spacious and has a separate wet and dry area.

The front desk staff were friendly, the location is convenient, and there's even a subsidy if you park in the lot across the street — but personally I couldn't quite accept the cleanliness and the soundproofing. Sharing this for anyone who needs a reference.
