Sendai Accommodation | Hotel Metropolitan Sendai | Directly Connected to JR Sendai Station | Lively, Convenient Location
The liveliest part of Sendai is the area between Sendai Station and Hirose-dori, so there are quite a lot of hotels here. This was our last night in Sendai, and since we would be taking the JR straight to the airport the next day for our flight home, we chose "Hotel Metropolitan Sendai," which is extremely close to the JR station.

📍 Location
Hotel Metropolitan is a hotel brand operated by JR, so in many cities the Hotel Metropolitan is directly connected to the JR station, making transfers extremely convenient for guests.
Hotel Metropolitan Sendai is likewise connected to JR Sendai Station — just a 1–2 minute walk away, which is very convenient. However, if you go indoors you first pass through the S-PAL department store, so if it's a rainy day and you want to walk indoors from the hotel to Sendai Station, you can only do so during S-PAL's opening hours!

Hotel Metropolitan Sendai also has numerous function rooms for weddings and all kinds of business meetings, plus several restaurants on the second floor. On the day we checked in, we saw plenty of people in suits in the lobby — the hotel seems to attract quite a few business travelers.
🛏 The Room
The room's design feels understated but somewhat dated, with an overall yellowish color scheme. The room isn't particularly spacious — you can't fully open two large suitcases, since much of the space is taken up by a fairly large round table and two armchairs...

Overall, the hotel is very close to the railway tracks, yet you can't hear the trains at all — the soundproofing is quite good. The bed was very comfortable, and our room was on a high floor with views of the city at night, though the room was a little on the humid side.
The location really is extremely convenient, especially for travelers taking the JR. If you don't want to spend time getting from the station to your hotel,Hotel Metropolitan Sendai is a pretty ideal choice.
