When we stayed at The Royal Park Canvas, we didn't book the hotel breakfast. Instead, we chose to come to this affordable Japanese bakery chain right next door, Donguri Odori Odori Park branch, to enjoy breakfast.

📍 Location & Interior

Donguri Odori is a Japanese bakery chain in Sapporo. This Odori Park branch is located right at Exit 24 of Odori Park Station. As soon as you come up, you'll see the Le Trois department store, and Donguri Odori is located on the first floor.

🍽️ The Food

As soon as you step into the Le Trois department store, you can clearly spot Donguri Odori, along with all kinds of different breads on display.

There is a great variety in both appearance and type — savory breads, sweet breads, and even some deep-fried items — very abundant with plenty of choices.

The bread prices range roughly from just over 100 yen to 200 or 300 yen. After picking your own bread with tongs, you head to the counter to pay, where you can also order drinks such as coffee, hot chocolate, or milk tea to go with your bread.

Next to the counter there is a small dine-in area. Although there aren't many seats, most people leave once they finish eating, so you won't have to wait long for a spot.

On this Hokkaido trip we hardly booked any breakfasts, and we ended up eating at Donguri Odori twice for breakfast alone — it's really convenient and not expensive at all. The only downside is that it doesn't open until 10 a.m., so if you want to eat breakfast early in the morning, you'll have to wait a little while.
